The 6th Aiki-jujutsu Takeda Ryu Maroto ha International Taikai of 2013 was held last June in Qawra (Malta).
One hundred participants had met for that rally, which is scheduled every two years.
The whole Taikai (courses, meetings, gala dinners, etc.) was held in the magnificent four stars San Antonio hotel.
By way of opening, the Maltese and the Mayor of Qawra welcomed the participants on the sunny terrace of the hotel where they could witness a display of some local folk dances.
The courses of Saturday evening and Sunday morning were driven by the following experts: Me Maroteaux 9th dan Hanshi,
S. Charlopeau 7th dan Kyoshi and Shihan E. Van Antwerpen 6th dan, M. Rastefano 6th dan, F. Durot 6th dan, C. Barnavol 6th dan, M. Hennequin 6th dan.
The General Assembly of the ESTAM and WTMF, which brought together the Presidents and technical managers of different countries, has adopted some resolutions to maintain this well managed and still promising organization.
The displays executed by the technical managers of each delegation allowed seeing the level of development of each one.
An international jury has allowed some students to pass the yondan tests. For the first time, the jury was composed of eight members ranked from the 6th dan to the 9th dan.
Master Maroteaux ended the meeting in apotheosis. Indeed, he displayed his ability to react quickly while combining Ju-kenpo with keys, and managing to get rid of a potential protagonist in a lap of two or three seconds maximum. All of this with a power that still surprises. Then, tradition has it that it was the turn of the receiving country to execute a demonstration which was brilliant enough to receive a degree of excellence by their President.
A Taikai that strengthened the school spirit through the values of work, brotherhood, welfare, friendliness, harmony and mutual respect, and all that in a festive atmosphere.
The visit of the Island of Malta revealed its culinary specialties which were greatly appreciated by the participants. Each one of them returned from that Taikai with diplomas, medals or trophies but more importantly, they returned with a lot of invaluable memories…
We would like to thank the ESTAM President who worked really hard to perfectly organize the Taikai in order to be a real success as were the previous Taikais.
